GRADE joins Southern Voice on Global Development, Southern Voice’s flagship initiative
Along with 14 other research centers in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, GRADE is participating in Southern Voice on Global Development, a new phase of the Southern Voice network’s flagship initiative, officially launched today April 30th.
At a time when global cooperation is under pressure and progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals is slowing, researchers and decision-makers from the Global South are generating bold, evidence-based solutions, but these rarely reach the spaces where global development agendas are shaped.
The SVDG initiative seeks to change this. Five collaborative teams have been selected to work on case studies focusing on:
- Digitalization and public digital infrastructure.
- Decent work and social protection.
- Climate finance governance.
- Youth engagement in agriculture.
- Health system reform.
The first topic will be led by GRADE in Peru, the Sustainable Development Policy Institute in Pakistan, and the Centre for the Study of the Economics of Africa in Nigeria, whose research teams will analyze policy coherence in digitalization reforms across education, data governance, and public digital infrastructure.
