Asenjo, A. & C. Sembler (2026). Corresponsabilidad comunitaria en los cuidados: evidencia desde los Centros Comunitarios de Cuidados “Chile Cuida” [Policy brief]. Proyecto Iniciativas para fortalecer las políticas de cuidado en América Latina y el Caribe.

This policy brief presents the main findings of a 2025 study that identified the conditions that promote or hinder community-based shared responsibility in Community Care Centers across four regional contexts. The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chile conducted the research in collaboration with the Undersecretariat of Social Services of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, the Kuidadores CAM Foundation, and the Yo Cuido Association, which represents caregiver organizations. The results show substantial gains in emotional well-being, reduced isolation, and recognition of caregiving work, while community-based shared responsibility remains in its early stages and depends on local conditions that the program cannot always guarantee.
