This paper attempts to show how the results of many of the redistributive efforts made during the first years of the APRA government in Peru were reversed in the following years. To this end, we analyze three of the most important mechanisms used by the government in the 1985-1990 period to affect income distribution: public price policy, agricultural price and subsidy policy, and education spending policy.
