Presentation
The objective of the study is to carry out a process evaluation of PREVI, which is a pilot program implemented by MINEDU to prevent school violence in secondary educational institutions at the national level.
More specifically, the study seeks to:
- Identify the actions implemented in the framework of the PREVI program during its first seven/eight months (March – September/October) in the different study localities.
- To know if PREVI has been implemented according to what was established in its initial design (theory of the program process).
- – To identify from the perspective of education sector officials at the central, regional and local levels and the educational community what are the main strategies/resources and challenges or bottlenecks that would be hindering the implementation of the key actions of PREVI and why.
In order to respond to these objectives, the study follows a qualitative design that allows for a deeper understanding of the opinions and perceptions of the key actors involved both directly and indirectly in the design and implementation of the PREVI program, in order to know their opinions and perceptions about the resources that have facilitated its execution and the bottlenecks that would be limiting its implementation in the IIEE. The information will be collected in urban and rural areas in the regions of Lima (province of Metropolitan Lima), Huancavelica (province of Huancavelica) and Ucayali (province of Coronel Portillo) towards the end of the 2023 school year.
The study is being carried out at the request of UNICEF in coordination with MINEDU.
