Date : 24/03/2026 → 26/03/2026
Location:Montevideo, Uruguay

Lorena Alcázar, a Senior Researcher at GRADE, is in Montevideo to participate in the Peer Learning Meeting on Care, organized by the Global Alliance for Care (GAC).

This event is taking place within the framework of the Collaborative Action Research Fund for Public Policy Innovations in the Care Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean, promoted by GRADE, together with Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Ford Foundation, and the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), in collaboration with the GAC.

Over three days of work, from March 24 to 26, the Fund’s beneficiaries will identify success factors and limitations encountered in the projects supported during the two editions of this initiative, as well as their causes, taking into account criteria of scalability, sustainability, and impact.

On the first day, Lorena was part of the welcoming panel, alongside Susana Muñiz, National Secretary of Care for the Government of Uruguay; Federico Burone, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean; Carolina Robino, Senior Program Officer at IDRC; and Yara Tarabulsi, Engagement and Advocacy Officer at GAC.
