La República newspaper gathered the thoughts of our senior researcher, Eduardo Zegarra, about the 35% increase in the agricultural public budget for the year 2019. Regarding investment in irrigation, he said that priority should be given to execution in the areas of the Sierra “where the gap in access to water is quite strong”. Regarding access to markets for small producers, Eduardo said that “more investment is needed in the system of agricultural services, technical assistance, and training”.
