Escobal, J. y Benites, S. (2012). Transferencias y condiciones: efectos no previstos del Programa JUNTOS. Boletín de Políticas Públicas sobre Infancia, 7, 1-10.
This bulletin reviews the existing literature on JUNTOS, as well as the results that Young Lives has been presenting on the programme. It is found that while children’s paid work was reduced, they were spending more time on household chores because their mothers were engaged in businesses financed by the cash transfer. The types of conditionalities found during the data collection are then presented: those that are mandatory, those that are complementary and others that have not been officially established but are required. After analysing the expected and unanticipated impacts, conclusions and policy recommendations are presented that would allow beneficiaries to have a better chance of achieving long-term welfare.
