The Cooperative Development Programme of the United States Agency for International Development is a global initiative that supports activities aimed at strenghtening cooperatives. In Peru, since 2010, two implementing partners, Equal Exchange y GENEX Cooperative, have been in charge of these activities. GENEX Cooperative has deeloped the project “Strengthening the Competitiveness of Agrarian Cooperatives”, implemented in Peru and South Africa from October 2018 to August 2024. In the case of Peru, GENEX collaborates with 21 dairy cooperatives located in the provinces of San Martin, Huanuco and Pasco. As part of its activities, GENEX will conduct a final evaluation of the project. In this context, GRADE will take over the rol of local evaluation organization, carrying out a quantitative and qualitative data collection from a sample of nine cooperatives. In this evaluation, GRADE will be responsible for: i) collecting data to obtain a comprehensive view of the status of the selected cooperatives and levels of programme achievement; ii) contributing to the analysis of data collected to identify patterns, trends and areas for improvement; and iii) participating in reporting and providing methodological support to the evaluation leader, helping to identify gaps, innovations and best practices, as well as informing the design of future projects and strenghtening the evidence base on effective development approaches.
