The main objective of the research is to identify and quantify structural factors that affect the performance of family farming in Peru and limit its transformation, so that farming families can achieve adequate and sustainable incomes over time. The specific objectives include estimating the causal relationships between structural factors and production and family income variables and analyzing the time trajectories of these variables for the 2012-2022 analysis period, among others. The study has been prepared using information from the National Agricultural Survey 2015, 2018 and 2022 (ENA) and the National Household Survey 2012-19 and 2021-22 (ENAHO), which were used in a consistent and complementary manner for the analysis of family farming in Peru.
