Presentation
The document will look to establish causal relationships between the level and structure of public expenditure oriented to rural/agrarian sector amd variables such as agricultural productivity and rural poverty in the five countries of the Andean Community. The main assumption is that there is a causal relationship between rural public expenditure and patterns of rural growth and income distribution among rural households.
The empirical evaluation will be done using a database recentrly generated by FAO for latinamerican countries, supplemented by other sources and studies. The document will be published as a book chapter by FAO.
