The communications component of Young Lives aims to disseminate the studies developed within so that they may have an impact in diverse audiences, among them policy makers related to childhood poverty in Peru.

Impact evaluation of OLPC program in Peru
The IADB is carrying out an impact evaluation of the One Laptop Per Child Program in Peru. In this evaluation, Santiago Cueto from GRADE has been assigned to some components, including developing the surveys and the joint work for the analysis and preparation of research reports.

Evaluation of cognitive skills among urban adults in Peru
In the context of a study of the economy of labour, the current component is aimed at developing instruments to measure the cognitive skills of adults in urban areas of Peru.

Peruvian education progress report
As in previous years, this Project will produce the same Peruvian education progress report based on the analysis of a set of coverage indicators and education results, but also of progress made in subjects such as the teaching profession, expenditure in education, educational decentralization, and policies for evaluation and development of standards.

Acquisition of farming land
At the request of the World Bank, GRADE will take an inventory of land acquisitions covering more than 500 hectares in the coast and rainforest of Peru from 1995 to 2008. Different sources of information will be researched, such as Pro-inversión, public records, Ministry of Agriculture and regional agricultural offices.

Study about the target population and system for impact assessment of the Agricultural Competitiveness Program
By assignment received from the IADB, the target population will be identified and a system for impact assessment of the Compensations Program for Competitiveness of the Ministry of Agriculture will be designed.

Study on the status of children and indigenous children in Peru
GRADE will produce a report on the situation of education, health and protection for the population between 0 a 5 years, 6-11 and 12-17, using household surveys and census data. We also will analyze the situation for the same age cohorts of the indigenous population
