Presentation
With this Project, GRADE confirms startup of a new line of activities, that is, academic formation and practice related to our research tasks. We are able to do it thanks to funding from the IDRC within the framework of the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).
While Latin America has experienced a growth in the volume of impact evaluations conducted in the region and headed by local researchers, many research centers still lack capacities to address this line of work. This project, funded by TTI-IDRC, involving the joint efforts of GRADE and the Center for Distributive Labor and Social Studies (CEDLAS) of Universidad de la Plata, focuses on developing such capacities. The proposal aims at developing training and other activities towards closing the gap between technique management capacities and the practical aspects of impact evaluations in the region and the current knowledge status. The following will specifically be developed: (1) basic and intermediate level courses on impact evaluation, (2) a mentoring tool aimed at supporting the construction of capacities in areas related to impact evaluation, and (3) creation of a regional group of experts on the matter.
