“Not all aggressors and not all victims are the same”. Wilson Hernández joins REDES and RPP podcast on violence against women

“Not all aggressors and not all victims are the same. They are different in the frequency and severity of the attacks. Let’s discuss two patterns of victimization. One in which women suffer a lot of physical, psychological and sexual aggression, and are subjected to aggression in the last 12 months. This is 9% of women victims of violence. In quarantine, this group is in a more serious situation than usual. Another pattern in which there is basically psychological violence, although there is a record of old physical violence. It is milder, but more widespread: almost half of the sample we analyzed. It is in this group where psychological violence is more likely to escalate and that some physical violence appears”.
