Hugo Ñopo discusses the bill that aims to prohibit state advertising in private media
Regarding the debate on the project of Congressman Mauricio Mulder which aims to prohibit state advertising in private media limiting it only to the public media and the Internet, Hugo Ñopo, senior researcher at GRADE, shares his thoughts in El Comercio.
According to Hugo, in certain locations of Peru, local media are the most effective means to communicate. “Let’s take as an example that this Saturday there will be a vaccination campaign in the places affected by El Niño, how do we summon the population, if not?” Also, regarding the issue of regulation, he suggested a monitoring system that allows all economic agents to access data on advertising spending.
