Hugo Ñopo discusses proposals on education announced by the President of Council of Ministers
“There is no education system which has been enhanced without improving its human capital, in this case, the teachers”, said our senior research Hugo Ñopo, in La Mula, regarding the change of the Magisterial Reform Act, one of the proposals for education sector announced by Fernando Zavala, President of Council of Ministers, during his speech to the Congress plenary on last Thursday August 18.
Ñopo also discussed Zavala’s proposal to further increase the coverage of Full School Day (Jornada Escolar Completa or JEC). He mentioned it is a good step and there are already evaluations that prove the positive impact of JEC on the achievement in mathematics.
For closing, the economist said the major challenge facing the country is to close equity gaps of learning.
