Has been a Researcher at the Centro de Estudios Rurales Andinos Bartolomé de las Casas in Cuzco; researcher and Development Area Coordinator at the Centro Peruano de Estudios Sociales in Lima, advisor to the Confederación Campesina del Perú, President of the Seminario Permanente de Investigación Agraria, Associate Researcher at the North South Center in the University of Miami in Miami, Faculty at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima, Rural Development and Environment Specialist at the World Bank in Lima, Head Advisor and Planning Manager at the Oficina Nacional de Procesos Electorales in Lima, Head Advisor and Planning and Budget Manager at the Fondo de Compensación y Desarrollo Social del Perú; Coordinator for Citizens Minitoring and Participation and for Communications at the Grupo Propuesta Ciudadana, in Lima.

Between 2007 and 2019 has been the Latin America Regional Director for the Natural Resources Governance Institute, Nueva York, and is currently a Senior Global Advisor. He is also an Associate Researcher at DESCO and a Consultant for GRADE, in Lima, Peru.
