Our Senior Researcher, Ricardo Fort, will participate in the third annual conference on conflict, climate, and the environment in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), organized by the Arab Reform Initiative and the Robert Bosch Stiftung Foundation.
The conference takes place against the backdrop of conflicts that have directly affected the environment and weakened countries’ capacity to address environmental changes. Meanwhile, efforts toward environmental recovery face major challenges, particularly due to persistent political fragmentation, economic crises, reduced international funding, and institutional breakdowns.
On the second day, Ricardo will serve as a panelist on the conference’s seventh panel, “Lessons and Experiences Beyond the MENA Region: Documenting Conflict-Induced Environmental Destruction.”
