Our senior researcher, Ricardo Fort, discussed the first findings of his study “Community based organization and spontaneous urban planning: keys for a rational urbanization process in the absence of the state” at The Safe & Inclusive Cities Exchange 2017 SAICx17, en Nairobi. The meeting is the main event of The Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC) initiative, funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the UK’s Department for International Development, is a global research program that has aimed to document the links between urban violence, poverty, and inequality.
