The Master in Anthropology and the Ethnological Workshop on Political Culture, both at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, held the International Seminar “Territory and Power: Dynamics and Transformations in Communities of Latin America”, from September 4 to 7.
Thus communities are one of the most important institutions for land and governance resources, this event aims to discuss trajectories, difficulties, opportunities, critical issues and, in general, the role of these collective institutions in the governance of the territories, as well as their future challenges.
Our senior researchers, Gerardo Damonte and Manuel Glave, are speakers and discussants during the final days of the seminar.
On Thursday 6, Gerardo will discuss on the studies part of the session 4 on communities, State and government technologies. Likewise, Manuel will be a discussant at the roundtable 5 on communal lands and conflicts over private investments.
On Friday 7, Gerardo will share the findings of the research study (together with Sandra Rodríguez): “Collective Government of the Land and Sustainability of the Territory. Transformations in Land Tenure of the Pastoral Communities in Caylloma”, as part of the session 8 on the collective management of communal resources.
