Our researchers, Alan Sánchez and Vanessa Rojas, will be speakers at the Adolescence, Youth and Gender Young Lives Conference, on Thursday 8 and Friday 9, September 2016, at University of Oxford. This two-day international conference will promote dialogue and critical reflection on the latest evidence, paradigms, concepts and approaches to adolescence, youth and gender in international development and consider the implications for policy and programming. Using Young Lives data gathered in Peru, our associated reseacher and senior researcher at Young Lives in Peru, Alan Sánchez, will present on September 8, Socio-emotional Determinants of Risky Behaviours in Peru, undertook together with Marta Favara, while Vanessa Rojas, adjunct researcher at GRADE and the qualitative coordinator at Young Lives in Peru, on September 9 will present the work undertook together with our associated researcher, Gabriela Guerrero: Understanding Children’s Experiences of Violence at Home in Peru: Qualitative Evidence from Young Lives.
The study by Rojas & Guerrero will be part of a panel that will gather publications using Young Lives data, sponsored by UNICEF through its program for identifying the drivers of violence against children (session 4g: Intersections of Age and Gender in Children’s Experiences of Violence: Building a Framework for Violence Prevention; UNICEF Drivers of Violence Against Children Programme). Meanwhile, the study by Sánchez & Tavara will be part of a panel that will address sexual and reproductive health issues (session 2b: Sexual and reproductive health, marriage and fertility).
